How minerdeals.eu calculates landed prices
Most miner shops advertise a sticker price that hides two costs: VAT and shipping. We show all three separately, for your country, so prices from different shops are actually comparable. Currently tracking 0 offers for 0 products across 7 European shops.
The formula
Every price on the site is computed as landed = base ex-VAT × (1 + your VAT rate) + shipping. The base price is normalized to exclude VAT even when the shop advertises VAT-inclusive prices: for those, we de-tax using the shop's home-country rate first. Non-EUR prices (e.g. USD) are converted to EUR at the ECB reference rate, refreshed automatically whenever a scrape runs with a rate older than 12 hours.
Where the data comes from
- Prices, stock, specs — scraped from each shop's own product API or listing pages every 6 hours. We parse titles and spec sheets into normalized attributes (hashrate in TH/s, power in watts, noise in dB) so a 234 TH/s miner from one shop is directly comparable to the same miner at another.
- VAT rates — a manually maintained table of EU VAT rates, reviewable at /vat-rates. These change rarely, but when they do we update them by hand.
- Shipping — a flat per-shop estimate in EUR, set manually. It does not vary by destination or order size (see limitations below).
- Stock location — where the miner physically ships from: an EU warehouse (no customs) or dropshipped from outside the EU (possible import formalities and weeks of lead time).
How products are matched
Different shops name the same miner differently. We embed each listing's title and specs and compare it against existing products from other shops; high-similarity listings are attached to the same product automatically, low-similarity ones create a new product, and borderline cases wait for human review. This is why one product page can show offers from several shops.
Known limitations
- Shipping is an estimate. A flat number per shop; real carriers charge by weight and destination. Treat the landed price as a close approximation, and the shop's checkout as the source of truth.
- Dropshipped items. For listings shipped from outside the EU, the seller's sticker sometimes already includes import VAT/duty — but not always. Where a shop offers both a customs-cleared (DDP) and a non-DDP variant, we prefer the DDP price because it is the true landed one.
- Prices are a snapshot. We scrape every 6 hours; a shop can change its price in between. Every product page carries the date the data was captured.
Questions
What is a landed price?
The landed price is what you actually pay to have a miner delivered to your door: the shop's base price excluding VAT, plus your country's VAT rate applied to that base, plus the shop's shipping cost. It is not the sticker price shops advertise, which often excludes VAT and always excludes shipping.
How often are prices updated?
Our scraper runs every 6 hours against every tracked shop. When a price, stock status, or availability changes, the change is recorded and the site reflects it on the next page render. The catalog header shows the exact time of the most recent completed scrape.
Which VAT rate do you apply?
Whichever EU country you select in the navigation bar. Each country's rate comes from our manually maintained VAT table (see /vat-rates). Prices are always shown in EUR.
How do you handle shops that advertise VAT-inclusive prices?
When a shop's listed price includes VAT, we remove that VAT using the shop's own home-country rate to get a clean ex-VAT base, then re-apply your country's rate. This makes VAT-inclusive and VAT-exclusive shops directly comparable.
Are shipping costs exact?
No — shipping is a flat per-shop figure that does not vary by destination country or order size. It is our best estimate of typical shipping for one miner within the EU. For an exact figure, check the shop's checkout before ordering.
What does the EU warehouse badge mean?
It means the shop physically stocks the miner in an EU warehouse, so no customs clearance or import duty applies and delivery is typically days, not weeks. Items marked Dropshipped are ordered from a non-EU supplier on your behalf and can take weeks and may face import formalities — the landed price shown may not include those costs.
